Week 1:
- First class. Briefly discussed the academic requirements of the course
- Discussed definitions: a Blog, a Mind Map, Media, Technology
- The role of Technology
- A Blog - a regularly updated website or webpage typically one that is run by an individual
- A Mind Map - a diagram in which information is represented visually, usually with a central idea placed in the middle and associated ideas arranged around it.
- Media - any method of communicating information
- Categories of Media
- Technology - anything used to make life easier. e.g cellphone, computer, vehicle, pencil sharpener
- Discussed several Google programs that can be used for several purposes, e.g an audio editor - Ninite -Audacity, Google Sheets
- Explored / discussed several items (modern and older) that were used for media
- CHALLENGES:
- The classroom environment was a bit hot and space restricted, but none the less, due to the interactive nature of the lesson, I hardly let it distract me. I was too caught up in trying not to get 'lost' and learning new things.
- NEW THINGS LEARNT
- Although I have heard of the discussed terms, I have never known their definitions. Now, I can use the info to create my Blog and appreciate communicating technically even more.
- Blogging can be used especially for communicating with other teachers and also students especially where classes might be missed, or followup / additional information is needed.
