Reflection - Week 7 - using MindMeister

Creating a MindMap

On 23rd October, we were selected into groups to create presentationns using different types of applications such as Prezi, Power Point, Wordle and Audacity.
My group was assigned an application called MindMeister, to create a Mind Map.   Other group members: Khori Edwards, Afeesha Graham, Matrisha Williams, Lenisha Harris, Neglee Peters, Martina Humphreys and Rhea Thomas.
The topic we decided to present on was Parts of Speech.
Each of us updated the diagram with parts of speech and their examples.

The next class (25th), each group had to present the application that they were assigned to.

A Mindmap is a diagram used to visually present information usually with a central idea placed in the centre... associated ideas or points of info are placed around this central point.

To access MindMeister, access www.mindmeister.com. Login with either gmail or hotmail or facebook address.

When logged into the program, select TAB to add or insert an idea / entry.  To add a link between the ideas, press ALT & C simultaneously.

To share the diagram (which I forgot to do in my blog), click SHARE at the bottom of the screen, enter the recipient's email address or copy the link provided and share with the intended recipient (s).

A few things about this program that I especially like are that it enables users to remotely work on the diagram at the same time and it saves automatically, pictures can be inserted, the conversation bubbles can be edited (colour, shape), the links can be however long or any direction desired.

Below is a picture of our group presenting....  sorry, the photo isn't showing all the members.

At the end of the presentation, via the whatsapp group chat, each group voted as to the amount of marks (out of ten) we should be awarded... I decided on 8 out of 10.
